Coaches, water aerobics instructors and others who need to a ChatterVOX boost in outdoor or noisy settings often find our EXTREME version of ChatterVOX just the right solution.  This “bundle” includes a special ChatterVOX amplifier equipped with a mylar cone speaker.  This creates an edgy sound that can be heard in higher ambient noise environments, a little like a bullhorn.  Along with the water resistant mylar speaker, EXTREME comes with a sweatproofed headset microphone and neoprene bodypack cover to resist damage from sweat and moisture.  We do not recommend the EXTREME for use in normal classroom settings.  The sound is too harsh for normal listening environments.

Several years ago schools and churches who were already satisfied ChatterVOX users  asked us for a slightly larger, wireless voice amplifier that could also be used for media presentations.  We responded with our first ChatterBOX, a rechargeable, single channel VHF wireless system with 10watts of RMS power in a thick walled ABS plastic case.  The product sounded good, performed well and was received well by our customers.  However, with the pending approach of HDTV, the future of VHF microphone technology became cloudy and uncertain.  Unfortunately the company we contracted to build the original ChatterBOX could not (at that time) support the UHF microphone technology we felt was necessary to assure our customers of a long life for the product.   Reluctantly we put that ChatterBOX out to pasture until we could resolve tooling and technology issues that made it impossible to deliver the caliber of product we wanted to offer you at a price that demonstrated the clear value we pride ourselves in providing.  I am happy to say that based on what we have learned from the development of our ChatterBOX-PRO (featured below) the time has arrived to bring forward a new lean ChatterBOX machine at a great value price.  The casing is again ABS (not extruded aluminum), but the quality of sound and quality of electronics is the same people have come to know and appreciate from ELT products.  Though not ready for deliver today, we will have demo units available for customer evaluation later this spring.  If you’re interested in this great new product contact us to arrange for a demonstration loaner.

Totable personal “soundfield” system

Kid’s learn more when there’s a Teach~IR in the room.

It has become very popular to install “soundfield” amplification systems in classrooms.  Studies conclude raising the teacher’s voice level leads children to perform better academically, improved “on task” performance and lessens disruptive behavior in the classroom.  The claims are valid but, in our opinion, fail to adequately consider significant audio and acoustic design principles that would significantly improve resulting outcomes.  We believe these deficiencies can easily be overcome with good engineering and system installation.  Teach~IR and ChatterBOX-Class Act are our offerings to achieve optimum performance and benefit from your investment in classroom amplification technology.  Teach~IR is a dual channel, infrared based wireless system using 2.08 and 2.54MHz carrier frequencies.  This is significant and important because it preserves the possibility to utilize standard 2.3MHz listening systems for assistive listening.  We also manufacture that listening technology. 

Some manufacturers are use the listening frequencies for their microphone carriers thinking the small transmitters teachers wear can transmit directly to a 2.3MHz receiver worn by a student   This is not technically practical.  Further, if it were practicable it would still preclude a hard of hearing student from hearing both channels on a team teaching environment.  Teach~IR is a well designed, comprehensive and competent infrared solution for “soundfield” amplification built on ELT’s more than 15 years experience with infrared technology.  No IR “soundfield” manufacturer today has greater depth of experience with this technology and knowledge of the full scope of its capabilities.

ChatterBOX-Class Act_tm

Dual 16 channel UHF classroom “soundfield” system

Class Act is our radio frequency based contribution toward achieving the real potential of distributed sound in the classroom.  Class Act is a dual wireless 16 channel UHF installed amplification system.  Like Teach~IR, it supports 4 zones of speakers that can be professionally calibrated for level control.  Each zone can support up to two loudspeakers.  The system also supports wired microphone and auxiliary inputs as well as a aux out for ALD applications and/or tape monitoring.  Class Act microphones have a special power circuit to limit their transmitting range to approximately 60 feet.  This is done to reduce the likelihood of frequency interference when many adjoining classrooms have installed systems operating simultaneously.  Class Act’s specially voiced ceiling speakers are easily installed permanently or temporarily in drop tile ceilings.  Systems include two bodypack transmitters w/ DynaMIC “Presenter” microphone systems and smart charger station.
